EDLD 5302: Concepts of Educational Technology

When it comes to major projects, or in this case, a masters degree, it is very important to reach out and create a community of with others in your class. You need to find people you connect with, enjoy talking to, and share similar ideas. These people will become your core group. For me, my core collaboration group consisted of Benjamin Portillo, Sonia Rodriquez, Julia Cochran, Kelsie Adams, Emily Matheny, Ayla Rightenour, Ann Zastryzny, Cristy Silkin and Katelyn O’Quin. There were others as well that were in our group chat too. Adaliz Torrado started a group chat in the app called, Groupme, for this class and 19 students from our class joined.
I felt like I could talk openly with them and discuss things I didn't understand without judgement. It was nice to be able to make sure we all understood our assignments and bounce ideas off each other. If we get the opportunity, I'd love to be able to meet them. I know we are all in different places in our program, but I'm hoping I'll be able to see some of them next Christmas when I walk.
For this course, I actively participated in our discussions and responded to others posts in a quick and timely manner. I also tried to be encouraging and uplifting with my comments and not too critical. I feel like everyone who participated really contributed greatly to this class and made it enjoyable with their ideas and discussion posts.
We created our our growth mindset plan, learning manifesto, and our learning networks. I'm very proud of all the hard work that went into research and writing. This was a quick course over 8 weeks. So, each week we were quickly reading, researching, and writing our papers. A lot of hard work went into each piece.
